Mass Vaccination in a Fews Marquee at The University of Birmingham

A Fews Marquee, sited at the University of Birmingham, has been repurposed as a centre for booked and walk-in vaccinations.

Hosted in the large marquee on the Green Heart of campus, the site has capacity to vaccinate over a 1000 people a day and is part of the regional and national effort to increase capacity for vaccinations against the coronavirus.

The University of Birmingham, in partnership with local GP practices and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust will be offering students and staff the Pfizer BioNtech COVID-19 vaccine on campus on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 June.

Vaccines are available via a bookable, appointment-based service, between 0800 to 1800 on both days to manage queues and waiting times.  There is also a walk-through offer in parallel with the bookings, but a wait can be expected.

This is the latest in a series of large marquee structures erected by Fews across the country to be used as mass vaccination centres over the last fifteen months.

Managing director, Ian Few commented, “We have been putting up large marquees for a number of Covid-related purposes throughout the period of the crisis, and will continue to make our stock available to the NHS and others for foreseeable future.”
