Marquees for Medical Centres

Marquees for Medical Centres

The COVID-19 Pandemic put immense pressure on the NHS, and Fews developed our marquees and structures for use as extensions and stand-alone Medical Centres. Ideal for providing essential social distancing areas, we can offer marquees from 3m to 25m wide and almost any length giving space for waiting rooms, observation areas, vaccination and treatment areas.  We can also provide access ramps to entrances and exits.

We can provide marquee structures that are ideal for the task. The challenges include building quickly and sometimes needing to build in very restricted spaces. Fews have the experience to overcome such issues with technical expertise, and can offer such options as:

  • PVC sided tents for building in tight, awkward spaces
  • Hard walls for ease of cleaning and sanitisation
  • Medical grade non-slip vinyl flooring
  • Wind rated and snow loaded to BS6399
  • Easy to partition to create discrete areas
  • Weighted, so can be erected on almost any surface including concrete, tarmac and grass
  • LED Lighting
  • Overhead, infra-red heating
  • Each structure can be stand-alone or connected to another building
  • Bespoke access ramps
  • Fast installation

Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

We offer very energy efficient structures through optional insulated walls and roofs and ensuring minimum possible heat escape through effective sealing.

Fews has invested significantly in sustainable energy sources, equipment, processes and vehicles over a long period of time including deriving our heat and power from biomass and solar energy.

This approach extends to our structures which we maintain before and after use to increase product longevity, as well as offering energy efficient insulation and heating options.

Why Choose Fews as your supplier for emergency temporary buildings?

Fast Installation

Fews offer a very fast installation service where required. Our temporary buildings can be installed on hard standing concrete, tarmac, gravel or grass, and it is possible for them to be either  free-standing or connected to existing buildings.  The quality of our structures mean they can be in place for three months or even 20 years. We are able to build in very confined spaces if the choice of location is limited.

Unparalleled levels of service

We allocate dedicated project managers to each enquiry, ensuring continuity in communication and information. They follow through from initial enquiry to final build, including being on-site to make sure that your requirements are delivered precisely and on time.

Extensive experience in delivering emergency temporary buildings and structures

For over 20 years we have been providing structures to the public and private sectors. We have a deep understanding of the market sectors we operate in, saving time and money for our clients.

Highest quality structures

Constructed from anodised aluminium and other high quality materials, our temporary buildings are resistant to wind, snow and rain, and are designed to last many years in such conditions. We use specialist enhanced PVC, insulated sandwich slabs, aluminium profiles and fire galvanised steel connection and assembly components to ensure we provide safe, durable, resistant structures.

Risk: What our Health and Safety means for you

Constructing temporary classrooms on school sites requires a skilled workforce with specific qualifications. We provide a tailored service to educational sites to make sure that all construction works are isolated and students are safe. It is of critical importance that we reduce the risk of injury to the lowest possible levels to minimise your liability and protect all stakeholders.  You can trust us, and this is why:

Compliance & Accreditations

Maintaining high professional standards is fundamental to the Fews approach. We have many health and safety, process and environmental accreditations including CHAS Elite, SafeContractor, Constructionline Silver, ISO9001 and ISO14001.

DBS Checked Staff

All personnel involved in the construction process must undergo Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks to ensure a safe and secure working environment in proximity to students.

Flexible Delivery Schedule

The ability to deliver materials outside of regular hours is essential to minimise disruptions to the ongoing educational activities and ensure the safety of the public and staff alike. This requires coordination and planning to ensure a seamless construction process.

Health and Safety

There are a number of essential accreditations that are required to work in any environment.  Fews also operate on numerous nuclear sites which means a much higher level of training and accreditation.  There is more information on our accreditations and training programmes.

Visibility of Staff and Vehicles

All of our site staff wear branded hi-viz clothing and all of our vehicles are clearly branded for easy identification to ensure the safety of the public and staff.

Safe Public. Safe Crew. Safe You.
